Blues on the beach
The ocean and sky won’t be the only blues in town when the Doheny Blues Festival kicks off Saturday, May 13, at Doheny State Beach. Two days, three stages and 26 performances will bring together acclaimed artists of blues, rock and soul. The fun will run through 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Presented by Omega events, the two main stages are surrounded by a waterfront grass park. The Backporch Stage features acoustic acts in a more intimate venue. Headliners include Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Lang, the Robert Cray Band and Little Feat with special guest Coco Montoya.

The vendor village will feature microbrew tasting, an international food court and Ellie’s Incredible Merchandise, offering more than 100 commemorative festival items.

Festival-goers are urged to bring a low-back chair, a blanket, a water bottle and sunscreen. For all details, times and ticket information, go to omegaevents.com.
