LAB Holding LLC
When Shaheen Sadeghi founded LAB Holding LLC – the visionary genius behind The Camp and The LAB – he knew a distinctive office space was a must.
He created just that when his company secured the SoBeCa building, an industrial space on Randolph Avenue and Bristol Street in Costa Mesa.
Sadeghi – a former Gotcha designer and onetime president of Quiksilver – and his wife converted it to something wholly unique to foster open communication, collaboration and creativity. The result is a fluid space that makes brilliant use of natural light.
Roll-up truck-bay doors were converted to large louvered windows, mostly frosted to mute the sun. Floor-to-ceiling shades further diffuse the light streaming through the wall-size windows.
Sadeghi’s office is a large glass cubicle on wheels that allows the room to be rearranged for events, or just for a new look. In fact, most of the furniture, including the conference room table, is on wheels, to further promote variation. One pair of cubicles is housed inside a converted cargo car that can be rolled inside or outside, depending on the season.
Glass, chrome and white enamel with splashes of brilliant green welcome visitors and announce that this is a bright, open, forward-thinking company with a keen eye for whimsy and detail.
