In 2009, eight entrepreneurs across seven categories were honored out of 500 nominations. Among them: Irvine-based Future Ads CEO Jared Pobre and Anaheim-based KHS&S Contractors CEO and President David Suder.
Other past winners include Irvine-based Vizio CEO William Wang and Michael Hajeck and Jay Longley from San Clemente-based Rainbow Sandals Inc.
Regional winners are also nominated for the national Entrepreneur of the Year awards and venture-backed firms that win on a regional level are eligible for the Venture Capital Award of Excellence. The national gala hosted by Jay Leno will be held Nov. 13 in Palm Springs.
Eligible entrepreneurs must be an owner or manager of a private or public firm and must be responsible for the recent performance of the company. The firm must also be at least three years old. For more information, visit ey.com/us/eoy.
