Hyundai's Gas Lock Assurance program, continued ...
"Our research shows that nearly 40 percent of potential new car buyers are staying out of the market specifically due to uncertainty around future gas prices," says Hyundai President and CEO John Krafcik. He says the promotion provides customers with confidence when shopping for a vehicle, especially those who qualify for the government's CARS – Consumer Assistance to Recycle and Save – program.
In order to take part in the Hyundai Assurance Gas Lock, customers can register their credit card – Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover – at hyundai.pricelock.com. After enrolling, the consumer will receive a Hyundai Assurance-branded card to be used for all fill ups. He or she will be billed $1.49 per gallon of regular gas, and Hyundai pays the rest. The card can be used at any gas station in the Voyager credit card network, which offers brands such as Exxon, Chevron and BP.
The program is standard on all new Accent – except for base editions – Tiburon, Elantra and Touring models, among others. Many of them are also eligible for CARS vouchers.
"It's another way we show consumers that, in this downturn, we're in this together, and we'll get through it together," says Ewanick.
