Automatic designs TheCheesecakeFactory.com, continued ...

The company implemented dynamic video, pan navigation and advanced sound design to create a 4-D site. It is powered by cutting-edge technology and features video of actual staff members greeting guests and offering information and navigation of the restaurants. Automatic says using internal talent from the restaurant also builds a sense of pride among The Cheesecake Factory's 30,000 employees.

What's more, the restaurant's e-commerce business is now linked to the guest portal, according to Mears.

“This is the first step in creating a ‘world class +1’ Web site experience for our guests," he says. "We literally rethought every aspect of the guest portal interaction and believe the new site will convey the uplifting feeling and excitement that our guests find in our restaurants."

And it's just the beginning for TheCheesecakeFactory.com: Automatic's techniques and technologies will also allow the company to implement new software and expand the restaurant's online business angle.

Automatic Partners has worked with clients such as Fossil, BakeMark and Charlotte Russe on Web site development.

Readers Feedback:

Interesting site incorporating flash... but I don't think they broke ground here. Look at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas site. They did this same stuff over a year ago.
