Quality Systems buys Opus Healthcare, continued ...

Demand is up in those markets due to a number of factors, including the increase of electronic health record initiatives stemming from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, according to Scott Decker, president of NextGen Healthcare.

The company will also have access to Opus’ Web 2.0 cloud-computing technology, which pushes clinical capabilities beyond the four walls of the hospital.

“Clients have expressed the need for a single, ‘cloud-based’ technology platform that can be leveraged across ambulatory and inpatient care settings," finishes Decker. "These new acquisitions afford us the necessary capabilities to address client needs and fill a void currently present within the rural and community hospital marketplace."
