Quantum is a key player in the alternative fuel industry: The firm co-founded Irvine-based Fisker Automotive with Hot 25 honoree Henrik Fisker in 2007. In 2008, the firm introduced its Q-Drive, a gasoline plug-in hybrid system, for the Fisker Karma sedan.
