• updated 12/21/2012 10:15AM METRIX hires former NBA player Corey Crowder Former NBA player Corey Crowder is joining Anaheim Hills-based private equity firm METRIX Capital Group in a business development role. Since retiring from fourteen years of professional basketball, Crowder has spent most of his time as an executive coach, motivational speaker and mentoring young athletes.
  
  “I am very excited to join the METRIX team. I look forward to expanding the METRIX brand and bringing their value added products and services to many new clients,” said Corey Crowder.
  
  After playing many years in Europe and two stints in the NBA (1991-1992 with the Utah Jazz and 1994 with the San Antonio Spurs), Crowder will bring his knowledge and experience gained from being a professional athlete to further strengthen METRIX. He also brings valuable experience from strong corporate ties he developed while with companies as an executive coach. Crowder will focus on opportunities in the Southeastern region of the United States.
  
  Before playing in the NBA and different European basketball leagues, Crowder went to the Utah Jazz undrafted out of Kentucky Wesleyan College (KWC), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 1991.  While in college, he led KWC to the 1990 Division II Championship and was named 1991 Division II Basketball National Player of the Year.
