Elton John to perform at Yamaha’s 125th anniversary concert at Disney’s California Adventure
Legendary singer-songwriter Elton John will headline a concert to celebrate Yamaha’s 125th anniversary at the Disneyland Resort at the end of January. John will perform with a 70-piece orchestra on Jan. 25 at Disney California Adventure. The performance will also be streamed live across the Internet.
In addition to the live stream, Yamaha will also host remote viewing parties in various locations around the world where guests will experience an unexpected treat. Each venue will be outfitted with a Yamaha Disklavier piano that, thanks to the company’s RemoteLive technology, will be synchronized with John’s piano in Anaheim. So, as he performs his set, John’s every keystroke will be recorded and faithfully recreated on each of the remote pianos in real-time. Thus, guests at the designated viewing locations will be able to not only watch John’s performance on the screens, but also experience his prowess at the piano in a whole new way.
Elton John has a long history with Yamaha, which is headquartered in Buena Park. The company has built all of his touring pianos for the last 20 years, including the Million Dollar Piano that he uses in his Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace.
“I'm constantly astonished by the inventive skills and versatility of the Yamaha team,” John said of the upcoming concert. “They've now perfected the RemoteLive technology, which means that I can perform the concert live in Anaheim, live across the Internet, and live in venues worldwide–all at the same time.”
The Yamaha concert will kick off a busy year for John. He will celebrate the 40th anniversary for his “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” album and will also release a brand new studio album in 2013. In April, he will return to Caesars Palace for another season of the Million Dollar Piano show.
