Another Wet Seal exec departs
Barbara Cook, senior vice president of store operations at The Wet Seal Inc., has resigned to accept a new opportunity, the company announced Monday.
Cook had been with the company since November 2011.
She is the second top executive to resign in as many weeks at the Foothill Ranch-based retailer of young women's clothing. Ken Seipel, the company's president and chief operating officer, resigned to pursue other opportunities, the company reported on Feb. 4. His position was eliminated as part of cost-cutting measures.
The company is trying to regain its footing in the highly competitive arena of young women's apparel. Its comparable store sales for the fourth fiscal quarter decreased 8.3 percent, but e-commerce net sales, which are not included in comparable store sales, increased 13.9 percent during the same period.
