updated 09/02/2010 2:22PM KnobbeMedical.com launches to aid medical startups A new website has launched with the goal of providing entrepreneurs in the medical-device industry the information they need to get their businesses off the ground.

Funded by Irvine-based law firm Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, KnobbeMedical.com offers resources such as basic business information, publications and articles, technical- and professional-vendor services, and Federal Circuit opinions in medical-device litigation, among other features.

“Whether you need prototyping, design or intellectual property law services, you need vendors with specific experience within the medical-device industry,” said Gerard von Hoffmann, who lead the team behind KnobbeMedical. “Entrepreneurs encounter enough obstacles en route to launching a startup. Spending valuable time researching what they need to know and where to find it should not be one of them.”

The site also is expected to spur the development of the medical industry in Orange County, said Matthew Jenusaitis, president and CEO of OCTANe, an Aliso Viejo-based agency that supports emerging firms.

"KnobbeMedical.com will pull together entrepreneurs, executives, inventors, investors and researchers," he said. "This dynamic is what will enable new companies and ideas to be created."

KnobbeMedical.com will debut during the California Medical Device and Investor Forum, set for Oct. 25-26 at the Newport Beach Marriott.
