Accomplished fund development professional Julia Foster has joined nonprofit Project Access as the organization’s chief development officer. Project Access strives to be the leading provider of vital health, education and employment services for families, children and seniors living in low-income housing communities,
In her new role, she will concentrate on increasing the organization’s donor base and revenues generated from its fundraising activities in support of the Project Access vision that all residents of affordable housing communities have the opportunity to achieve self-sufficiency and maximize their full potential.
Prior to joining Project Access, she was the chief development officer at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, one of California's most imaginative performing arts venues. Her previous experience also includes four years with Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Orange County’s acclaimed arts institution and a multidisciplinary cultural campus. She joined that organization as associate director of Annual Giving before being promoted to director, and subsequently was named director of Major Gifts.
Earlier in her career, she was the development manager for Cultural Programs at Vail Valley Foundation in Vail, Colorado. Additionally, her community leadership roles include serving as an appointed commissioner on a Planning & Zoning Commission, as a board member of the Vail Valley Theatre Company, a review panelist for a cultural affairs grant program, a dance teacher and a guest lecturer at UCI. She was also a professional modern dancer and musical theatre performer in New York City.
Foster earned an Executive MBA from The George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University in Orange, California and a B.A. in Dance from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
