Secret to your success: A willingness to listen. A good sense of money and ability to mix creativity and business.
Advice to other women in business: Be able to delegate. Start at home. If your home is organized, you can concentrate on work and be organized there, too.
All-time favorite bottle of wine: Château Lafite Rothschild – my father stored it in our cellar, and we would drink it for special occasions.
Hynes
took over the Vinotemp, which manufacturers custom wine cellars, after
her father’s death in 2005 and followed in his productive footsteps.
Last year, Hynes acquired Apex Wine Cellars and Saunas (valued at $20
million) and launched Epicureanist, which designs and patents wine
accessories. Vinotemp recently moved its headquarters to Irvine to
accommodate its recent growth.
“The combination of three
businesses makes us the largest provider in our
industry,” Hynes says.
“Although the economy put a damper on things, we saved for the rainy day
and grew our product line to expand our market.”
