Strasberg
and his team at Doner figured out a way for people to sling hash at
each other anytime, anywhere and with anyone. All they need is a
computer. At foodfightfiesta.com,
an interactive site created for Del Taco, people can choose their ammo
– a cup of beans and cheese, a burrito, tacos, whatever – and toss it
at friend or foe via e-mail. For Strasberg, it brings back fond
schoolboy memories.
WHAT YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE FOOD
FIGHT FIESTA CAMPAIGN: When I was in junior high, I started a food
fight. It began modestly with the toss of a pizza crust. What happened
next was the stuff of legend. Anytime I can feel like I’m in junior
high again, I take it. Making Food Fight Fiesta gave me that sensation.
But I didn’t have to clean up afterwards. Or go to detention.
WHAT
YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB: The best part is creating things like
Food Fight Fiesta with fun, talented people. What other job requires
you to think of stuff like this? And then you get to help make it come
to life with people more creative than yourself. Not a bad gig.
FAVORITE
TV COMMERCIAL AND WHY: Today I mostly get excited by ideas that are
more than just a TV spot. And I’m focused on the new ideas that we’re
cooking up with our clients, specifically how several of them are
taking advantage of every modern-day marketing lever, from the Web to
phone applications to alternative reality games. It’s a brave and fun
new world out there for forward-thinking brands.
FUNNIEST JOKE YOU KNOW: I don’t know any funny clean jokes. I wish I did.
