Networks in Motion extends Gokivo platform, continued ...

This new international support is triggering customers to turn to mobile device navigation systems, as personal navigation devices (PND) become less popular. For example, Gartner – a global research and advisory company – reported this week that customers are seeking alternatives, causing PND prices to quickly decline. The unstable economy is an additional reason consumers are shying away from buying expensive technology. Gartner says these standalone navigation devices are selling at a fraction of the cost from just five years ago.

Networks In Motion’s expansion marks a milestone for the growing transition from PND products to mobile devices.

“Consumers want navigation in the palm of their hands at all times, and they want real-time data that can help them discover everything that’s around them by simply clicking on their phone,” finishes Antone.
