![]() Members of the media, VIPs and young Angels fans from the Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim attended a special presentation Monday at Angel Stadium to get a sneak peek at some of the culinary treats such as sushi, beef, pulled-pork and chicken sliders, gourmet hot dogs and even barbecue ribs. The menu was prepared by Aramark Food Services, which serves as the food and beverage partner for the 12 MLB teams. Since 1990, the company has hosted seven MLB All-Star Games, including the 2006 event in Pittsburgh. "Providing fans with a taste of the distinct, local flavors available each night across Major League Baseball is sure to add another layer of competition and enthusiasm to the 2010 All-Star Game experience," said Marc Bruno, president of Aramark Sports, Entertainment and Conventions. Two BBQ dining destinations inside the stadium will feature signature items from Aramark's 12 ballparks, prepared by each destination's executive chef. Among the dishes: Angel Stadium's Halo Foot Long Dog; Fenway Park's New England Lobster Roll; Minute Maid Park's Texas-style Pulled Pork BBQ Nacho; and Turner Field's Knucksie Open-Faced Southern Sandwich. Aramark’s main event is the Dueling BBQ competition, which will feature 12 chefs – six from the American League and six from the National League – in a head-to-head cook-off on the stadium's first and third base patios prior to the game. The winner will be decided by the fans. “The recognition that our award-winning ballpark menus have garnered speaks to the talent of the culinary staff participating in this inaugural Dueling BBQ event,” said Brian Stapleton, corporate executive chef for Aramark Sports and Entertainment. Here's a breakdown of the participating chefs: American League Chefs • Dave Dekker, Angel Stadium • Ron Abell, Fenway Park • Dustin Miller, Kauffman Stadium • Rodney Nestegard, Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum • Margaret McBride, Oriole Park at Camden Yards • Dilup Attygalla, Rogers Centre National League Chefs • Flavien Trichery, Citi Field • Glenn Richmond, Citizens Bank Park • Craig Luckmann, Coors Field • Jason Kohler, Minute Maid Park • Rich Montini, PNC Park • Orazio Lamanna, Turner Field Other culinary highlights featured during the All-Star festivities include a revamped 2010 menu and brand-new dining locations.
