AIS introduces new product line for military use
The hardware includes computers and related products designed for rugged environments.

Irvine-based American Industrial Systems, (AIS), a global manufacturer and distributor of industrial-grade panel PCs, LCD monitors and digital signage for military use, has launched a new line of products. The AIS line, say company reps, are designed for the rugged environments regularly encountered by military personnel. The products must pass a battery of military-standard tests before being purchased.
The products’ features include:
• Sealed enclosures using materials such as cast aluminum and magnesium for improved resistance to contaminants and hazards
• Low-heat CPU designs that make sealed enclosures possible for hot desert and wet naval environments
• Flash memory devices that reduce the number of systems’ moving parts and associated mechanical failures
• Simpler, more effective operating system software for ease and speed of use, as well as a reduction in system failures
American Industrial Systems relies on the input of U.S. Department of Defense contractors to ensure that the company’s military-grade hardware has been designed and manufactured for effective field use. In addition to military applications, AIS products are used in the industrial automation, aerospace, medical, transportation, and power/energy business sectors.
