Orange County Restaurateur Bruno Serato, owner of Anaheim White House, has been named a CNN Hero and will be profiled in a segment that will air this Friday. The broadcast will document and focus on his Motel Kids Program, which feeds 40,000 underprivileged children in Orange County each year.
In partnership with the Anaheim Boys & Girls Club, Serato has identified some of the most vulnerable kids locally. Each day at 6 p.m., 150 dinners are prepared and delivered to children and families who live in motels because they can’t afford to live anywhere else. Serato purchased and donated a fully equipped van to the Boys & Girls Club to facilitate the deliveries.
Serato’s Anaheim White house is located in a historic mansion built in 1909. The restaurant serves an innovative menu of Northern Italian and French fare, and features an extensive wine list. As a result, the restaurant has received coveted distinctions, such as the International Five Star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, and top rankings in the Zagat Dining Guide.
