Anaheim officials this week will decide whether to appoint Kleinfelder West Inc. as the environmental services team for the Anaheim Regional Transportation Inter-Modal Center Project – or ARTIC – according to a staff report.

ARTIC, which is a project fielded by the city, the Orange County Transportation Authority and other local and federal agencies, is scheduled for completion in mid-2013. It involves the construction of a multiuse facility that will act as a state-of-the-art transportation hub.

ARTIC is projected to serve as a connection for the Anaheim Resort area, the Platinum Triangle – which includes Angel Stadium, the Honda Center and The Grove – and will extend into the greater Southern California region and the state. ARTIC will also accommodate infrastructure for a high-speed train.

Kleinfelder West was among seven firms solicited by the city based on prior success with projects using environmental government laws similar to those that will be involved with ARTIC.
