The firm, which specializes in natural and built environments for municipalities and government agencies, among others, was the "most qualified and responsive," according to the report. Kleinfelder West's prior experience with relevant agencies, including the Federal Transit Administration, also influenced the decision.
If approved, Kleinfelder West's professional services agreement on the ARTIC project will not exceed $970,800 and the Department of Public Works' fiscal year 2009-2010 revenue and expenditure appropriation would increase by about $3.6 million.
