Ryan DiMaria, DiMaria Law

Plan today for peace-of-mind tomorrow.

M. Ryan DiMaria began his career fighting for the rights of children who had been abused. What is more important to DiMaria than the more than $100,000,000 he recovered for his clients, however, is knowing he helped turn their lives around.

Having accomplished his initial goals, the Irvine-based attorney moved on to what he went to law school for: being an estate planning, business and tax lawyer. His litigation background attunes him to gaps in client documents, which could leave them vulnerable to future issues.

“Estate Plans that are not properly drafted can cause disputes between family members or unintended tax consequences,” says DiMaria. “And no one wants to build a business that is ultimately destroyed because of conflicts.”

DiMaria understands that just as people's lives and businesses change, services must also evolve to meet client needs. A current trend involves families who want to pass property or businesses to their heirs at today’s reduced values, or safeguard unexpected and newly acquired wealth.

“Misfortune does not wait for the economy to recover,” says DiMaria. “And therefore, revocable living trusts and planning for the care of minor children is still of great concern.”

Recent high-profile celebrity deaths and the subsequent battles over assets and children have become a public spectacle, underscoring the urgency of this problem.

“Additionally, most people do not know that without at least a revocable living trust, a will alone does virtually nothing,” says DiMaria. “The extent of their assets and wishes upon death become a matter of public record in probate court.”

Fighting for his clients when they can no longer fight for themselves is particularly rewarding.

“It’s an honor that my clients believe in me enough to trust me to work with them and handle their business or personal family affairs, even when they are no longer here.”
