Guard a Heart Foundation and Aviir Diagnostic Laboratory teamed up earlier this month to host a fashion show at the Strand properties in Dana Point to raise funds for the heart disease nonprofit.

More than 150 people attended the event, themed “Keeping the Moments Alive,” which emphasized the importance of preventative measures in fighting heart disease, the leading cause of death in the world, and featured live music, appetizers, drinks and an award ceremony.

Sponsors included Tommy Bahama, Blue Ice Vodka, K’ya, Vintage Steakhouse, Stillwater Grill, Gemmells and Socially Sweet. The fashion show included designs from Tommy Bahama, Marisa Kenson and Dr. Bahar Couture.

Distinguished attendees including Dr. Bahar Sederati of Bahar Medical Group; CEO of Aviir Diagnostics Dr. Douglas Harrington; CEO of Ms. America pageant Susan Jeske; and founder of Athletes for Life Willie Gault and Lora Thomas of Kyani were honored for their philanthropic efforts and commitment to heart disease awareness and prevention with the “Guardian of Hearts” award.

All proceeds from the show will toward Guard a Heart’s “Know Your Risk, Save a Life” campaign, which provides free cardiac testing.
