Start your engines. Local car enthusiasts are preparing for the three-day Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction, returning to the O.C. Fair and Events Center this weekend. The event brings together automotive aficionados, collectors, experts in the field, and this year, fans of Ford and GM.
“Southern California is without a doubt the car culture capital of the U.S.,” said Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson. “We are proud to be able to offer some of the finest collector cars and provide fun family lifestyle events for enthusiasts and spectators.”
The local event will feature informational seminars on auto collection, ownership and care, auctions of auto culture memorabilia, and several collector car auctions. In all, more than 400 new, vintage restored and preserved autos are scheduled to go on the block. Speed TV will broadcast the three-day event live throughout the weekend.
This year’s event will also give attendees the opportunity to take a spin behind the wheel of some high-end Ford models; a closed circuit course will be available for “Ride ‘N Drives” of the 2013 Mustang, 2012 Focus and 2013 Fiesta during the event, as well as some GM models. Elite model 2013 Ford Focus ST and Ford Shelby GT500 will also be on display, the first time the two models will appear together since their unveilings earlier this year.
“The Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction is one of the highlights of summer in Southern California, and people travel from across the country to enjoy the cool cars, auction action and beautiful weather,” said Steve Ling, Ford’s North America marketing manager. “It’s the perfect setting to give West Coast visitors a chance to see some of our most talked about products, including the 2013 MY Ford Focus ST and 662 horsepower Ford Shelby GT500.”
The Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction runs June 22 to June 24 at the O.C. Fair and Events Center. For more information, click here.
