Hilary Kaye

NAWBO-OC member, director of advertising & PR; Founder/president, HKA Inc. Public Relations

Hilary Kaye is the founder and president of HKA Inc., a highly regarded public relations agency in business in Orange County for more than 20 years. HKA provides strategic and tactical PR in a variety of industry segments and specializes in top-tier media placements. The agency has received numerous awards and Kaye is recognized as an industry leader in Orange County. Kaye has personally mentored numerous professionals, now working throughout the United States at various PR and media posts.

Prior to entering the field of public relations, Kaye worked as a journalist and later as a public information officer at the University of California, Irvine. She holds a master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism; is co-author of "Plant Extinction: A Global Crisis," published in five languages; was associate editor and chapter author of "Newport Beach: The First Century;" and has authored numerous articles concerning public relations and media.

Kaye is a firm believer in giving back to the community and has made this a watchword throughout her career. She currently is active in the community as director of PR & advertising for the NAWBO-OC Board of Directors, and serves on the board of the O.C. Bar Foundation, a non-profit organization whose stated mission is to “keep at-risk youth out of jail, in school, healthy and drug-free through education, counseling and mentoring.” Kaye is a founding member of the Women’s Philanthropy Fund and the Women’s Business Institute and is a founding member of the Society of Fellows (OCBF).

She is a strong supporter of nonprofit organizations such as the MS Society, Girls Inc. and Working Wardrobes. For many years, Kaye has fielded the team Ruby’s Raiders in the MS Walk in Orange County, raising many thousands of dollars over the years and gathering scores of colleagues and friends to join her team. Ruby’s Raiders was named the Top Corporate Team in O.C. in 2006 and O.C.’s Most Inspirational Team in 2007.
