Boost Mobile, the Irvine-based wireless provider, and ZTE Corp., a supplier of telecommunications equipment, have created the ZTE Warp smartphone.
The first ZTE smartphone offered by Boost, the ZTE Warp reputedly has the largest touchscreen and the highest number of megapixels in the Boost Mobile Android lineup. With a 4.3-inch display, 5 megapixels and Boost’s Mobile ID service, the product is expected to give customers top picture quality.
“Boost Mobile is very excited to partner with one of the fastest growing and largest handset makers in the world to introduce the ZTE Warp,” said Andre Smith, vice president of Boost Mobile. “ZTE Warp delivers a powerful Android device for Boost customers searching for a big-screen experience to capture and view higher-quality photos and video.”
The GPS-enabled phone includes stereo Bluetooth technology and provides easy access to gmail and Google Talk. It is Boost’s first Android device to feature “Boost Zone,” a centralized place where customers can access their account, pay their bills and get technical assistance.
ZTE Warp will be available starting Nov. 2 at Boost Mobile’s retail stores and the company’s website, as well as a number of independent wireless dealers.
“ZTE knows there is a market for customers who want to explore the benefits of a smartphone but do not want to make a significant cost commitment to a device or service plan,” said Lixin Cheng, CEO of ZTE USA and president of the company’s North America Region. “Boost Mobile, with its award-winning service and customer experience, is an important partner for us as we work to put the most popular technologies into more consumers’ hands.”
