New Brea residential neighborhood to open

Potential homebuyers will view the development through a 3-D model-home ‘flythrough experience.’

A new Brea residential neighborhood composed of single-family homes, townhomes and duplexes will be unveiled on Saturday by Santa Ana-based homebuilder City Ventures. Located in the city’s historical district, the Brea Downtown Collection features environmentally friendly solar power and electric appliances.

City Ventures has introduced its 3-D model-home “flythrough experience,” which will let homebuyers see dwellings from a virtual aerial perspective. The digital tour will be available at the company’s sales office.

“We are orchestrating the death of the model home,” said Herb Gardner, president of City Ventures’ Homebuilding Division. “City Ventures has identified technology that allows us to deliver a comprehensive understanding of our homes and floor plans without the burden of constructing and maintaining costly model homes. We then pass those internal cost savings directly to our homebuyers, which none of our competitors can say or do.”

The development’s townhome and duplex floor plans are up to 1,667 square feet in size, with three bedrooms and up to three and a half bathrooms. Single-family floor plans are up to 3,336 square feet, with four bedrooms and four baths. Prices of Brea Downtown Collection units start in the high $300,000s. The development is located at 515 South Brea Blvd.

“Brea is one of the most vibrant and desirable communities, not just in Orange County but anywhere,” said Gardner. “Responding to local demand, the Brea Downtown Collection will offer attractive, European-style residential opportunities for buyers interested in living, working, shopping and entertaining – all within historical Brea."

In addition, homeowners will save on their electricity bills, as each home will generate a large portion of its power on-site through installed solar panels, according to City Ventures. Each home will exceed state-mandated Title 24 environmental-efficiency standards by at least 30 percent.

The Brea Downtown Collection is projected to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program's (LEED) Gold Certification, presented by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED promotes the design and construction of energy-saving green homes.

“Energy-efficient homes are good for a green earth and a green wallet,” added Gardner. “City Ventures builds the most energy-efficient new homes on the market, and these technologies come standard in each of our homes. There is no extra fee to achieve low-energy use. Our homes reduce impact on the environment, making (homeowners) less dependent on energy companies while living in comfort and style.”
