Brea’s Suzuki grows up: unveils new Kizashi sedan

The vehicle will be the Japanese automaker’s flagship vehicle for its more mature line.

Brea-based American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) takes a major step in the company’s history by stepping into a whole new market with the debut of the 2010 Suzuki Kizashi (pronounced Kee-Zah-Shee). Previously, Suzuki’s niche has been as a maker of small vehicles and high-performance motorcycles.

The Kizashi is the company's first entry into the all-wheel-drive sport sedan segment. Benchmarked against some of the leading cars in the world, the company has positioned the new vehicle to be a car-of-the-year contender in its own right.

The aspiration for the Kizashi was to blend dynamic performance attributes with premium design aesthetics and craftsmanship not yet seen in this category. The car is scheduled to arrive in North American showrooms this winter; the Kizashi will serve as the company's flagship vehicle, further expanding and strengthening its current product line of high-quality small cars, trucks and SUVs.
