The firm says it will combine the strength of the VeinViewer, along with its own experience in the visual technology field, in the new operation. “We’re excited by the potential of this acquisition,” says Christie Medical President George Pinho. “Christie’s goal is to diversify into emerging markets, and we saw a unique opportunity to enter the medical imaging industry.” The VeinViewer uses near-infrared light to find a patient's veins through the skin. After finding the veins, it projects a real-time image of their location onto the skin.
