![]() The negotiation, if approved by the Irvine City Council, would make the Great Park the official Orange County location for the highly energetic performance group's show. The performances could potentially take place every two or three years at the park. The board of directors believes each Cirque du Soleil performance could bring in up to 2,600 spectators, with a typical run of 50 to 90 shows. Though a decision has not been made, the board hopes to have the show in place by as early as January 2010. Home to the Great Park Balloon, the Orange County Great Park covers 4.7 acres of space and will eventually house a 2.5-mile canyon and lake, miles of walking and biking trails, a botanical garden and other features. |
