Clean Energy signs contract with Dallas/Fort Worth International

Seal Beach firm will build, manage fueling station for world's third busiest airport.

Seal Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels has inked a 10-year contract with the world’s third busiest airport: Dallas/Fort Worth International.

Under the agreement, Clean Energy will create and manage a fueling station for the airport's Rental Car Center fleet, which will include 46 new compressed natural gas-run shuttle buses.

Over the next four years, the airport's current courtesy shuttle buses will all be replaced with CNG-powered vehicles. When the fleet is active, the station is expected to dispense more than 500,000 gallons of natural gas per year.

The Clean Energy Rental Car Center CNG station is slated to open in May and will offer the airport's CNG-powered vehicles and nearby communities 24/7 access.
