Comarco Inc., announced today that its ChargeSource “slim and light” universal power adapter, designed specifically for use with Lenovo ThinkPad 90W notebook computers, received the “Good Design” award from the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization.

The award program, created by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in Japan in 1958, honors products across a range of applications, including industrial design, architecture, the environment and communications. Awards are given based on ingenuity and technical advancement in addition to the benefits each product brings to everyday life.

The ChargeSource adapter is currently an accessory for Lenovo’s line of notebook computers. It has a slim, light modular design, which was first shipped early this year.

Comarco also recently announced that it had won Lenovo’s business for its next-generation, cost-optimized ChargeSource “slim and light” universal power adapter.

"It is an enormous honor that the 'slim and light' ChargeSource adapter has been recognized with such a significant award," says Sam Inman, president and CEO of Comarco. "This is a very prestigious award in Japan and for our product to be singled out is significant recognition of the technical expertise and innovation of the Comarco and Lenovo teams who worked closely together on its development."
