When you trace it all the way back, it comes down to three individuals: Frederick Stanley, Duncan Black and Alonzo Decker – three passionate individuals who built powerful companies that they were so proud of, they put their names on them. In 2010, the two companies combined to form Stanley Black & Decker, to deliver the tools and solutions that industrial companies, professionals and consumers count on to be successful when it really matters. Today, the company is one of America’s largest corporations and is the country’s No. 1 manufacturer of power tools and home improvement products.
Headquartered in Foothill Ranch, the Stanley Black & Decker Hardware and Home Improvement Group (HHI) is a billion-dollar division of the company’s Stanley Security Solutions platform. HHI’s vision is to be the global leader of architecturally inspired, innovatively designed security, hardware and plumbing solutions that improve the places where people live and work. HHI develops, manufactures, markets and sells builders hardware, residential and commercial door hardware, kitchen and bath faucets, shower systems and bath accessories under such well-known brands as Stanley and National Hardware, Kwikset, the world’s largest tubular lock manufacturer, Weiser, Canada’s No. 1 selling lockset brand, Baldwin, Fanal and Pfister. HHI has a global sales force and operates manufacturing and distribution facilities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Asia. Currently, the division employs approximately 4,600 associates worldwide.

Stanley Black & Decker emphasizes the welfare of the company’s employees. As John Lundgren, president and chief executive officer, notes on the company’s website, “At Stanley Black & Decker, our people are our single greatest asset. … Every day, they define excellence with everything they do.”
