Julie Schoenbachler is the first and only female lead executive at her private equity firm, Irvine-based The Bascom Group. Although she stands out as a woman in a male-dominated industry, her accomplishments are what make her shine. Her professional portfolio, which nets 34 percent of her company’s $740 million holdings, has earned her numerous accolades, including a Women in Business award from the Orange County Business Journal.
In her life and her career, Schoenbachler abides by a Henry Ford quote: “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” She has adopted a can-do attitude and feels successful in being able to balance her family (she has three young sons) and her career. She credits her desire for success to her parents, who raised her to have a strong work ethic, and hopes to inspire her children to succeed, as well.
Schoenbachler’s dedication extends past her family and her career; she is a mentor at UC Irvine and is involved with organizations such as Women Helping Women, Project Access, Veterans First and the Building Block Foundation Fund. bascomgroup.com
