![]() After earning its nonprofit status, Krochet Kids has empowered more than 150 people in Uganda and Peru to work, receive an education, and receive mentoring to create a brighter future. “Our success is the success of the women we work with across the globe,” Crecelius says. One of his proudest moments was the first time he learned about a program member who had saved enough money through her time crocheting with the company to start a convenience store. She was able to create a sustainable future. Crecelius takes pride in enabling individuals and communities to fight poverty, showing the world that a smart business model can have a great impact. “At first, I thought the world needed something more drastic than crochet,” he says. However, his perspective has changed. Now he hopes to help grow his business model to a global scale. krochetkids.org First Job: His lawn mowing business OC METRO's 2012 40 UNDER 40
