City where located: Huntington Beach
Number of employees: About 132 (at Roxy headquarters)
What the company does: Surf-wear manufacturer

Why we like them: Roxy’s workplace culture embraces the surf, skate and snow lifestyle. Between an indoor skate park and a short commute to the beach, there’s no excuse to not have fun.

If someone shows up at Roxy’s Huntington Beach headquarters in a suit and tie, it’s a sure bet that person doesn’t work there. “You know they’re a banker, lawyer or some other outside appointment,” says Executive Vice President Randy Hild. “And you can bet that the next time they come back, they won’t be wearing a suit.”

But a casual dress code isn’t the only perk for employees. The company rewards its workers with flexible schedules, once-a-month Friday happy hours and company parties at venues like the House of Blues or the beach. Roxy is also housed in a stunningly beautiful building in Huntington Beach – a convenient commute for residents of South County as well as Los Angeles County.

Employees work in a relaxed atmosphere that reflects the youthful surf, skate and snow industry. The facility includes a 1-acre state-of-the-art indoor skate park. Or employees can join a popular running club. And the office is just minutes from the beach, so employees who surf can hit the waves before work or during lunch. In fact, Hild notes, “You can usually tell how good the surf is on a given day by how many wetsuits you see hanging around the office or in cars.”
