JANET CRONICK

POSITION:
President of Ultimate Gifts, a Fountain Valley-based company that specializes in branding promotional products

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Invited by the U.S. State Department to join its International Speakers Program in 2006, earning the opportunity to travel to Latin America and speak with various businesswomen’s organizations, national universities and local micro-enterprises. Co-founder of the National Latina Business Women Association of Orange County (NLBWA-OC).

WHAT YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK: I enjoy generating brand-enhancing ideas for my clients and seeing how my ideas help them grow and market their organizations. It’s really great attending a business expo and seeing people walk around carrying items with one of my client’s logos on it in their hands!

PROFESSIONAL PHILOSOPHY: I believe in being a resource, and going above and beyond what is expected of me. My credibility as a business owner depends on my personal integrity.

PROUDEST PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT, AND WHY IT STANDS OUT: After having a thriving career in human resources, I decided to follow in my father’s footsteps and explore my own entrepreneurial dreams. I exchanged the safety net of a corporate job for the chance to start a business. I attribute my to my extensive participation in the business and philanthropic community, which earned me the opportunity to travel to Latin America to share my experience with other women micro-entrepreneurs.

ADVICE FOR WOMEN ENTERING THE WORK FORCE: Take advantage of the many networking opportunities available. Look into joining a businesswomen’s association, building a strong relationship with a mentor and getting involved in the community with an organization that supports a cause you’re passionate about.

IF YOU COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU LIVE? My family came to the U.S. from El Salvador in pursuit of the American Dream, so I’m blessed to be living in the land of opportunity.
