POSITION: President of the Jamboree Housing Corp.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Since 1999, she has grown the corporation from a small, Irvine-based nonprofit housing developer with 750 units into a statewide provider of more than 5,000 affordable homes in 48 communities.

WHAT YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK: I truly believe we have such a positive impact on the families and seniors who live in our communities. They have safe, high-quality housing to live in that they can afford and call home. We are changing people’s lives.

PROFESSIONAL PHILOSOPHY: All human beings want to be treated with respect, even when they are faced with challenging times. Just because a family lives in housing that is targeted for those earning lower income doesn’t mean that they are any less valuable to their community.

PROUDEST PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT, AND WHY IT STANDS OUT: Every time we open a new development, I feel so proud to be a part of Jamboree. We will be celebrating our 50th grand opening this June, and I think that will be very overwhelming.

ADVICE FOR WOMEN ENTERING THE WORK FORCE: If young women or men entering the work force truly believe that they will be successful, they will. It is important to define what success means and stay flexible along the way. Opportunities unveil themselves, and you must be ready and open to take them.

FAVORITE TV SHOW: “The Amazing Race” – I love seeing the different locations that the teams travel to and the competitive aspect of the show.
