“There are only three green public schools in all of Orange County,” Wendy Rogers says.
An architect with LPA Inc. for 22 years, she represents Orange County as a green schools advocate for the U.S. Green Building Council. Rogers is one of two female principal designers at LPA, which currently ranks among the nation’s top green design firms, and she specializes in the integration of design and education in schools.
In 2009, she co-authored “The LPA Green School Primer: Lessons in Sustainability.” She has received media attention from, among others, “CNN Headline News,” the Orange County Register, Architectural Products magazine and the San Diego Union-Tribune. She is determined to meet her lifetime goal: to make every school green.
