First job: Coch Industries, an oil refinery in Wichita – I was hired as a pipeline scheduler.
Who or what inspires you: A sense of urgency – my father passed away at a very young age, so you just never know. Carpe diem.
Advice to other women in business: Work hard and don’t give up. Hard work always pays off, just maybe not directly or as quickly as you want it to.

« On the Web site of Liz McKinley’s company, Pinnacle Petroleum, there are icons showing a few of the many awards bestowed upon the company; you can only fit so much on one little page.
You see, McKinley’s company has a formula for success that many companies in the petroleum industry lack, and it’s based on excellent customer service (such as a 24-hour telephone response).
Pinnacle operates in a six-state area as a petroleum wholesaler and distributor, and generates up to $130 million in annual sales. It was listed as one of the fastest growing woman-led businesses by Entrepreneur magazine. And she’s landed a few recognitions of her own for her entrepreneurial success, including the Entrepreneur of the Year award by the National Association of Women Business Owners.
