Devon Hocker has been selling real estate in Ladera Ranch since its beginning, and she’s sold more than $86 million in homes in that community alone. She wouldn’t want to work – or live – anywhere else. “Anybody who comes and visits Ladera can see it’s a community of friendly people who care to know their neighbors,” she says. “And it’s become a networking hotbed in South Orange County.”
Three years ago, Hocker decided to publish a magazine to positively promote her community. And so Ladera Ranch Magazine was born. Then last summer, in the wake of its success, Hocker and her business partner, Erinn Igarashi, launched Coto de Caza Quarterly. “Our magazine is a hybrid of our favorite publications; think People magazine, but with relevant people who actually live in the community, and the high-end quality of a Martha Stewart-type of publication,” says Hocker. “We cater to a local co-ed audience and want our readers to recognize at least somebody in every issue.”
