Kevin Maggiacomo speaks animatedly of himself not as an accomplished individual, which he is, but as an individual who happens to head up an accomplished company – so accomplished that, according to the Lipsey Co., Sperry Van Ness is the 11th-most-recognized brand in the United States, with approximately 1,000 advisors across more than 160 markets in 38 states and three countries.
Maggiacomo spends much of the conversation talking about SVN’s part in some much-needed filling of holes in the community, such as a program established to “support minorities in all endeavors in the real estate industry.” The company also allocates 10 percent of its profits to help fund banking and brokerage services to Orange County charter schools, which are often under-supported. “A huge focus,” Maggiacomo says, “is doing well by doing good.”
