Kelly George’s history covers war zones, the Pentagon and an Air Force Commendation Medal – with a beauty pageant thrown in for good measure. Born and raised in Mission Viejo, George earned her degree at the University of Maryland and landed a doozey of a job after college.
“My first job was at the Pentagon as a public affairs officer in the U.S. Air Force,” she says. She went on to serve as chief of media relations at Little Rock Air Force base in Arkansas. While pursuing her master’s degree in 2007, George was crowned Miss Arkansas. “I wanted to be an example to young women considering the military,” she says. “It was fun to ruin people’s ideas about stereotypes.”
