At the age of 29, Kerrigan purchased TL Fabrications, a steel manufacturing company, where he spent five years in management consulting: “I used my two years of business school [at Stanford University] and decided I wanted to buy a company.” Under his management, TL’s revenue tripled, and profits quadrupled. While he still sits on the board of TL, his business time is spent at Serent Capital, a $250 million private equity fund.
But philanthropy and community service also play a huge part of Kerrigan’s life. “I’m very involved in primarily Catholic organizations in Orange County,” he says, “especially trying to save urban Catholic schools in Orange County from the crises in financials.”
