And Robert Hagopian and Brian Smith know exactly where to find it all: The Meat House. “The Meat House represents California as a whole,” says Hagopian. “California is driven by big-box stores. We want to have a place that people can frequent. Here, the customer service is as important as the quality of our products.” The Meat House is well known on the East Coast, and Brian Smith, who grew up in Boston, felt that the West Coast needed one, too. With all of the perfect California weather afforded for cookouts, surely people would welcome a place where they could find all the supplies they needed. “You can come in and put together an entire gourmet meal – cheese, wine, general grocery and prepared produce,” says Smith. The meat is all-natural, grass-fed and prepped on-site. Interesting meat requests are welcome. “Alligator, wild boar, quail, elk, ostrich – we can get it all,” Smith says. OC METRO's 40 Under 40
