Evan Stanley has fed many a celebrity at The Grove – from Tiger Woods to Cyndi Lauper to Sheryl Crow. He’s worked with world-renowned chefs like Michael Mina, Bobby Flay and Mario Batali, and he regularly wows diners at gala events, feeding hundreds or even thousands at a time. But the pinnacle of Stanley’s skyrocketing career came this winter, serving as the executive chef for the Winter Olympics’ Canada Place Hockey Arena in Vancouver.
He was invited to cook for the world’s top hockey players and the VIPs who attended their games. He prepared meals for dignitaries such as the King of Sweden and the Prince of Latvia, as well as gold medal Olympians from all sports. Serving the world’s greatest hockey players was extra special, since Stanley grew up playing the sport and competed professionally in Europe.
