ROBERT PAGLIARINI
President of Pacifica Wealth Advisors and best-selling financial planning author
A renowned author, financial planner and head of Pacifica Wealth Advisors, Robert Pagliarini has written a No. 1 best-seller, “The Six- Day Financial Makeover”; appeared on “20/20” and “Good Morning America”; and been featured in The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek, among other publications. Most recently, Pagliarini’s wealth management firm was voted one of the top companies in Southern California. He is currently writing his second book.
Most important lesson learned:
Regret stinks. The pain of not doing something and regretting it is much worse than the pain of doing something and wishing you didn’t. Don’t worry about making mistakes and looking foolish. If you’re not failing regularly, you’re not taking enough risk.
Next big step:
Making my forthcoming book a No. 1 New York Times Best Seller.
Advice for other young professionals:
Use the other eight hours – the time you are not sleeping or working – to advance, grow, learn, create and develop. Don’t take this free time for granted. Start a blog, take a class, improve your skills, get closer to friends, pursue a passion, learn a language, exercise. Just do something. Use the other eight hours to make small but daily progress. They are the most valuable things you have to improve your life.
What you do for fun:
Sit at my computer, crank up some rock music and brainstorm new businesses, books, blog posts and ideas. Also, I love going to Disneyland with my 3 1/2-year-old daughter and wife. (Pretty much anything we do becomes fun!)
If you could have dinner with anyone – alive or dead – who would it be and why?
My son, because I was never able to hear his voice.
