Avi Pai and Mike Sheets are more than partners at one of Orange County’s top money management firms. They also teach, write and host free workshops to educate the public on the importance of planning for a secure financial future. Unlike others who work in finance, the pair has had great success during this recession. Their business has grown by 25 percent during the past few years, managing $110 million in client funds thanks to 60 new corporate and 25 high-worth clients.
Pai teaches two financial planning courses at UC Irvine, while Sheets speaks on 401k matters at large corporate events. Sheets has also been a featured contributor for Financial Advisor Magazine, the leading industry-based periodical.
More than 8,000 employees at 130 Orange County businesses entrust Pai and Sheets with servicing their companies’ 401k or retirement plans.
“To do this job, we constantly grow our knowledge, keep pace with regulatory and industry changes, and service better than our competition,” Pai says. “People don’t always care what you know, until they know that you care.”
