![]() Even at age 25, Matthew K. Stewart was thinking big. He wanted to be an entrepreneur, so he got together with three friends and formed National Services Group – or NSG – to be an umbrella for various endeavors. Their goal was to expand nationwide and have a platform for doing business in various service-related industries. NSG became a success – three companies were formed under its network spanning 26 states. Stewart, the co-founder of the subsidiaries, became an active participant on the Orange County board of directors and international board of directors of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. To qualify as an EO member, a person must be a founder or controlling employee of a business that grosses more than $1 million a year. Soon, Stewart was the global chairman. The achievements have led Stewart to being a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and an Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award from the Orange County Business Journal. Despite his high-profile career, he finds time to sit on the board of trustees for Share Our Selves, Orange County’s largest assistance charity.
