One of the hottest documentary filmmakers lives and works right here in Orange County. Joshua Colover is a producer, director and writer of a full-service film production company – Aperture Films in Newport Beach. He won the Martin Scorsese Scholarship and the Wasserman Award for his directing efforts while attending the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and he is a member of the Writers Guild of Canada and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
His biggest feat was producing and co-writing the feature documentary “Farther Than the Eye Can See,” a film that tells the epic story of a blind man’s quest to climb Mount Everest. The film captured the first high-definition footage from the summit and won numerous festival honors, earned two Emmy nominations and has been recognized as one of the 20 Best Adventure films.
Colover recently received two CINE Golden Eagle Awards – for “Valor in the Pacific,” and for an AnnualCreditReport.com TV ad.
