![]() When she was 10, Lindsay Lawrence was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Rather than stop her, the disease ended up driving her success. “Doctors told me playing sports would be difficult, and I wanted to prove them wrong,” Lawrence says. “So I worked my butt off to get a full scholarship to Northwestern in volleyball.” While at the university, she won numerous tournaments. Later, her competitive nature led to sales jobs at several Orange County banks. Enrolled in an MBA program at UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business, Lawrence was later offered a job at startup Opus Bank in Irvine. The new bank focuses on revitalizing the community, something dear to Lawrence’s heart. She is a founding board member of Hoag Hospital’s Allen Diabetes Center, and volunteers with the United Way and the Alzheimer’s Association. At Opus, she is the youngest vice president and is the director of Relationship Integration – responsible for being the voice of clients, working with them through all divisions to create the best possible banking experience.
